Year 5 Boys Futsal

 

15 schools took part in the annual Y 5 Boys Futsal Tournament which was held at Barnsley Football Club on Wednesday 17th March. The day was split into 2 halves with the morning being made up of group games and the afternoon being made up of groups based on positions from the morning. The Champions League group were the teams who were playing to be crowned overall tournament winners.

The final champions league group was very tightly contested with the top 2 teams only being seperated on goal difference. In the end, Dodworth St. John's finished as winners of the tournament as a result of having a better goal difference and congratulations go to them. Both Dodworth and St. Dominic's now get the chance to play again as they will represent Barnsley in the South Yorkshire Finals so good luck to both.

Thanks to Barnsley FC for again allowing us to use their excellent facility and also to the Darton High School Leadership Academy students who refereed the games. Thanks also to Matt Hanley (Sheffield & Hallamshire FA) who ran the event.
